Get a Backbone and Fight for Your Freedom!

The reason our country has become a shit show is because Americans have let it. Take a stand today.

Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country.

Charles E. Weller

As a child, I remember my dad always penning this phrase, along with portions of the Declaration of Independence, on parchment paper while practicing his calligraphy skills. I always thought it was such a powerful statement; one that invoked a calling to never let our way of life cease to exist, no matter what the cost.

Perhaps this is one small reason among many I served in the military and why protecting our God given freedom is so important to me.

Our future is in trouble.

Right now I'm struggling as I watch our country give up the freedom so many men and women sacrificed their lives to preserve. The ideals of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are disappearing before our very eyes. The foundation this nation was built upon is eroding into the past.

And it’s because people in this country have let it.

The pandemic, cancel culture, woke movement, political agendas, media lies, and hyper-sensitive feelings of Americans has weakened our core. Patriotism and the American Spirit have all but died. Plus we have become the laughing stock of the world because of our actions.

It’s a complete fucking mess!

Our future is in trouble. There will be dire consequences for refusing to hold steadfast to the values that made us great as individuals and as a nation. Your freedom and mine may never be the same again.

It all started by killing Freedom of Speech.

We all deserve the right to share our opinions without government interference or be able to freely express ourselves in an appropriate manner without harmful retribution. Unfortunately this is not the case anymore.

Freedom of speech is only welcomed if it aligns with views of the person you share it with.

Difference of opinion is no longer accepted and anything you say that goes against the status quo is quickly met with swift punishment. You will be bullied and castigated for your words. Openly speaking your mind is frowned upon and no longer tolerated. You can certainly encounter the worst of humanity by doing so.

Sadly, civil discussion between people is a thing of the past. Beneficial dialogue is almost impossible to have. And even social media no longer allows us the right to express ourselves freely. Just look at Facebook.

This goes against everything our country was founded on and we must put a stop to this injustice.

It is time to fight for your freedom.

There's a HUGE difference between talking action and taking action. While there is a time for discussion, there is also a time to fight. And if we look around us, there are many battles to be involved in.

Unfortunately there aren't enough courageous people willing to fight.

Americans have mostly chosen to remain silent instead of speaking out. Perhaps it’s because doing so risks losing something substantial like a career, customers, relationships, and sometimes even their lives. Yet freedom always requires sacrifice; freedom is never free.

While I understand the risks, this is the time when we must remain strong as a country and stand up for what we believe in. We cannot choose to ignore the insanity going on or we’ll risk losing everything we profess to hold dearly.

Why is it so damn important?

I remember the stories from my grandparents who endured the atrocities of World War II. They, along with my mother, lived through the hellish nightmare of Nazi occupation.

There was no freedom, no food, no education, and no support. They were oppressed in every way possible. People were murdered simply for breaking the rules — or being the wrong color or race. For five years, the Gulikers family survived the horrors of war and the evils of humanity. It changed them in ways many of us will never comprehend.

My family never forgot the importance of having their freedom and they were willing to risk everything to keep it.

They never took this gift for granted. They were always thankful for the thousands of men who sacrificed everything to liberate them. And they knew our world would have been vastly different if people refused to fight for what was right.

Now history is repeating itself. It might not be identical to what others encountered in WWII but it is eerily similar.

So we can choose to stick our heads in the sand and pretend it’s not happening. Or we can have guts to make a stand here and now.

Now is the time ...

There are aspects of this “new and improved culture” that have brought incredible advancements to this country, including a greater awareness for human rights and equality. I applaud those who have fought for positive change, especially the younger generations who have typically been labeled as lazy or apathetic.

Yet the quest to make our society a better place has also opened the lock to Pandora’s Box. It has brought a new wave of insurgence hell bent on destroying everything this nation was founded on. And while I agree some of our laws and constitutional rights might need to be revisited and updated, many of them do not.

It is time for us to stand up and protect what so many died for.

As a veteran and patriotic American, freedom means everything to me, but hopefully to you as well. We must fight for our foundational rights and refuse to let the insanity prevail before it’s too late.

I don't know how you should fight for your freedom; only you can determine what that looks like or how far you’re willing to go to keep it. Whatever you're able to do, do it with all your heart and never retreat.

Now is the time for all good men and women to come to the aid of their country!
